HS Circular: Release of Report Cards and 3rd Quarter PTC Schedule

Posted by Larry De Las Peñas On January - 14 - 2013

As announced previously (cf. E-Circular: Letter to Parents dated 05 December 2012), please be informed that your son’s report card will be distributed on Thursday, 17 January 2013. Please also be reminded of our PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCE (PTC) on FRIDAY, 18 JANUARY from 1:00 – 3:30 P.M. Dismissal of ALL students is 12:00 NN

You are most welcome to attend the PTC and confer with your son’s subject teachers.  This meeting aims to give both the teachers and parents a venue to discuss important concerns about the students for the third quarter.  Kindly enter through Gate 14, 2 or 9.  A directory of teachers and staff’ location will be available at the ground floor near the HS-MPH and entrance gates.

Like what we have done in the previous PTCs, please observe the following guidelines:

  • Limit your discussion with the subject teachers to urgent matters only.
  • Only parents are allowed to queue.  Siblings of students, yayas and drivers are not allowed to reserve a slot in the line.  Objects may NOT be left on the chairs to reserve slots.
  • In the interest of time, each parent will be allotted 6 minutes with an extension of 2 minutes, if necessary.  A Class Officer shall cue the parent if his/her time is up.
  • You are encouraged to leave your name and contact number with the student if you feel a longer discussion with the teacher is necessary.

We request for your full cooperation regarding this matter in order to allow all parents to maximize the Parent-Teacher Conference.

Thank you very much.

I think this suggestion is great. For parents who want longer conversations with the teachers, maybe a one-on-one parent-teacher meeting would be more appropriate. PTC should be a venue for the teachers to accommodate all parents if at all possible. I hope class officers and the teachers themselves will do something about this recurring problem.

Please remind the Class Officer to be strict about the time limit. Sometimes parents take 15 minutes. Actually if they can put a timer for everyone to see (baka mahiya naman iyung over-extending parents), it would be better.
The last 2 PTCs that I went to took me 1.5hrs waiting in line to talk to my son’s Math Teacher. I wasn’t able to talk to her pa rin because it was already 3pm and I had to pick up my daughter from ICA. (I was like 7th in line)
    Just a suggestion.
